according to a seller on ebay, they are supposed to flex. therefore defeating the purpose of removing flex in towers.

I hear they are actually a clever hidden carry handle...You pop the bonnet open and grab hold of it to carry your car around...Thats just utter bullshit that they're supposed to stop inward flexing of the strut towers which gives cars variable steering geometry...

Well I know that they do something lol, not sure about the technical terms though. We used to live in Glenmore Park and as I'm sure all the Sydney people will know what a rabbits warren the suburb is, full of long windy roads. Anyway, I get car sick and would always be sick when we drove through there. That was until one day we had a strut brace fitted. All of a sudden it didn't make me sick any more

well im very intrested in getting a strut brace for my vl, ive found new 1s forsale on ebay for 99 bucks (buynowprice) and i was wondering what major gains would be acheaved bside the allmightly 350RearSubLebboWATTS?
would: it make the car more stable eg:less body roll and is it really worth it in a road car, its only 99 bucks so if it makes handerling beta then its proberly worth it in my eyes

    in short, no gains.

your car is pretty much stock right? i dont think you need one yet.... unless you get it to 'look' like you have more power and need it cos the 4500rwk will flex the car bigtime.... many people do that....

dont get one off ebay unless its a brand name one, ie, dont get it off that dude that i linked to in my thread about mine.

but, they will give you a more stable ride around corners, etc, it from what i understand is supposed to stop flex in the strut towers, which without one produces negative? camber on cornering, and making the tyres lose grip.

i just googled to find out some info about the usages and i found this.

strut braces are supposed to provide some improvement to the handling of a car. The theory is that the brace stops the suspension mount points from moving relative to each other, thus limiting camber changes under load
and on another site it said it stops the camber from going to negative camber when at higher speeds and giving beta turnnig stabilaty, which makes sence beacuse it would limat the movement of the towers outwards so there 4 stoping the producment of negative camber,

so would it be recommend to get a beta brand (named) then a no name brand becuase i will be looking into it when funds are avalible, im tending to lean towards the 99 dollar 1 off ebay beacuse i dont have the money to spend double the amount of that on a strut bar, and i need to spend my money else where eg, need new struts and shockers, got factory struts on teh front 19yr old thats bad, and my rears are getting bit bouncy (pair some1 gave me 4 free awhile ago), ive got king springs (low) on the rear but not front, no spring compressor
