Touch up paint for metallic painted cars.
Hey guys. I own an 89 vn calais with that light blue on silver metallic paint job. I was wondering if touch up paint that you can buy does a good job of covering up scratches. Also how do i get my paint code?
One other thing. I went to a body repair place because a part of my back window seal has split and that body is starting to slowly rust. He said after he fixed it he would have to respray the whole roof because he cannot just respray bits n pieces. All up he said to fix that tiny rusted area it would be 800 to 900 bucks! I just walked off. Theres gotta be a cheaper option. Any help would be awesome. Thankyou.
you probably won't be able to buy it in a touch up brush. get the code off the compliance plate and get a paint store or autobarn to mix some up. also you will have to respray the roof or it will stand out like dogs balls. you could do it yourself if you're handy with a welder, bog, and a spraygun. the paint is atleast $60 a litre. hope this helps.
You can get metallic paints in touch up cans. It comes with a tiny little brush also. You spray in the cap and apply.. It looks awesome..
Take the code off the plate as said above, and take it to the big blue rack at your local car place..
You need the PowerPlus Touch Up paints which can be bought from AutoBarn, SuperCheapAuto, as well as Big W.
Either grab the paint code of your plates and use the PowerPlus book at the shop to reference which paint you want or tell me the code and I can tell you the colour you need to buy.
