Wow, thats bad customer service. I know that in my line of work (retail), if you whine and bitch enough, you can get basically anything done. I was going to say, if worst things come to worst, threaten them with the accc in bold typing. There has been a crack down lately (in retail anyway) by the accc so you might get lucky. Also inform them that you know its your right to recieve the goods in a described condition, as they are described as new, you should recieve the item with no damage and in working order. Also, shouldn't the kit come with a warranty?
