News Flash: VZ Commodore updates!

I was talking to the Dealer Principal of the local Holden Dealer yesterday when he asked me what I knew about the engines in the VZ. I told him that I knew that there was going to be a 190kW 3.6-litre V6 with either a 5-speed Manual or 5-speed Auto. I didn't see this coming though... "Do you know about the 220kW one?" It's not Supercharged, it's not Turbocharged, it's High Output!

Also, I've found out the VZ Commodore Colours...

276M - Odyssey Mica (Confirmed: Silver-Green)

949J - Masque Mica (I think it's a dark Blue to replace Vespers Blue)

161L - Turismo Mica (Confirmed: Bright Blue)

954K - Violet Echo Mica (I think it's an ordinary Violet)

339N - Glaze Mica (I think it's a Silver-Gold, if so, it'll replace Syracuse III)

349N - Gunmetal Mica (Confirmed: Plain Grey to replace Turbine Grey)

186L - Hornet (Confirmed: Orange)

So far, all the new variants I know of are;

V6 version of the Cross 8 which could be called the Cross 6.

V6 versions of the Adventra models which could be called CX6 and LX6. Or maybe they might just drop the 6/8 and call them CX and LX.

Guessing: A V6 version of the Monaro. The 220kW V6 only put fuel on the fire of my suspicion.

I remember reading in WHEELS magazine a few months back when some Holden official (can't remember who) said that Holden want to try and get the new V6 into everything.

From the same site as listed above. The Series 4 or VZ (I don't know what they're going to call it), will cop a facelift!!!

I first read about this in MOTOR magazine about 5/6 months back. They showed a scoop picture of it and I can tell you, it's got the original VT headlights with a VY/VZ grille. Looks oddball and it'll be interesting to see how it goes.

Umm, the VZ will get a facelift or the VZ is a facelift.

The VZ is a facelift. The VZ Series 2 will be a minor facelift, in a sense.

The VE will be a totally new platform.

Ok, I've read the site now, and you really need to get your facts right. The VZ is not copping a facelift - that is to say the following model (VE) will not be a facelift, as we all knew it would not be.

The VZ Monaro may get an LS2 in its VZ 2 revision. Like the VT2 is to the VT, its not a facelift. Its a possable stepping stone to the introduction of the LS2 accross the entire Holden V8 fleet.

Facelift is a dangerous word in the mouths of people who write before they have properly read.

I am led to believe Holden are officially releasing VZ full details/information on the 14th July 04 which I am sure a lot of you are hanging out for including myself.
