Moving from QLD to VIC

hey i've decided that at the end of the year i'm gonna move back to Melbourne and take a year off Uni and work full time...I went to school there, got my dad and sister there..so i know a fair few people but anyway.

just a question about licences..I've been on my Queensland P's for a year now and have 1 demerit point...i'm planning to drive my car to Melbourne from Queensland..

i just wanted to know if i am gonna have to get victorian licence plates and get a victorian p licence and display those gay P plates they have down there. or will i be able to just continue driving down there with my Queensland Licence and plates..

PS i've always wanted to have outer state licence plates on my car....Queensland-Sunshine State-when its like 6 degrees and pouring down in Melbourne lol

If you stay more then 3 months you will need a Vic license and Vic rego. In most cases you can transfer your Vic rego right over..

If you're over 18, your QLD license will convert right over. If under, you will get your learners..

You will need to wear those gay P plates once you have a Vic license, but not with your QLD license..

You'll be right for the first 3 months, after that you could get into hassles. One of the footy players got caught driving with a WA license in Vic, if it's more then 3 months you get done for driving with a disqualified license.. Not good..

all you need is an address in Qld you can have all your rego papers and so on sent to, then theres no worries, a mate of mine did this from wa to sydney for the last coupla years.
