hi all, look just wondering if anyone can help. i have a vn v8 1990 model. at the present time the my heater switch( the one that you can change from feet to dim to head) doesnt work. i have found a hose in the engine bay that runs to the front passengers side to the front of the engine bay, and if i block this hose the control switch then works. were does this hose connect to? it has me stumped. if you can help cheers shane
being in the engine bay it could go to the heater tap or there are one or to vacume lines that come from the engine bay through the a grommet where the heater hosess connect to the heater core on the firewall and connect to the plastic vacume lines inside the car near the heater box, check the heater tap and on the inside of the car near the heater box for some loose vacume lines that it could possible connect to.

The hose goes to a black ball in the passenger side front guard. It's a vacuum reservoir that holds a vacuum to power the servos for the heating/cooling system. Most likely the line has come off the ball or you have a crack in it somewhere. It's most easily accessed by taking off the front bumper, or you can put the car up on chassis stands and take the left front wheel off and work from under the car.

cheers thanks for that
