Kids, please PLEASE don't do this!!!
Ok well the other day I was coming home from work and there was an exec. VT sedan in front of me. The plates were HSV-***. It wasn't an HSV.
The exhaust pipe look a bit strange. It was a dual outlet thing, but there was something odd about it.
Once I managed to get a good look in the right sunlight angle, I could see that what the owner of the car has gone and done is got themselves a bit of 2" pipe, cut it in half, stuck the two pieces together, and then somehow joined it to the end of the STOCK exhaust pipe. Not a proper tip join either. Have a look at the attachment and you'll see what I saw!!!

Now now.....that looks very creative to me... :b:
Come on....let's all admit it....haven't we all done silly things to cars when we were much younger?
I recall rebadging my 1976 Sunbird as a Torana just to escape the shame of everyone knowing I was driving a car "powered" by the black Opel motor....
But yeah, I've seen some purely rat-arsed things done to cars, and you have to ask yourself does the owner honestly think he's fooling anyone?
I mean, things like shiny and new-looking HSV badges on a very ratty VN with "police" steel wheels and lowered into the weeds...it had one of the boot, one on each side, and those damn things cost like $80 or something from Holden! Unless of course he, ahem, "found" them....
Or the bonnet scoop in the center of the bonnet of a late model six cylinder Falcon or Commodore...what exactly is it feeding air to, if there is a hole under it at all? Both cars have the air box down the front somewhere....
Or large 6 x 9 speakers, either rolling around the parcel shelf in the back, or sitting in homemade chipbaord boxes, again obviously not secured, just waiting to embed themselves in the back of the idiots skull if he has a minor accident...
I'm sure we could all start a pretty amusing thread here if we all chipped in!

*hangs head in shame* you mean like buying those cheap plastic wheel covers coz your too pov to buy alloys?
Did the bonnet scoop thing in the 80's - had one rivetted on, thought it looked good back then.

No. I for one would NEVER commit such a scandallous crime.
Hmm, now I come to think of it, I've seen Porshes (hmm spelling looks wrong) with a similar exhaust design...

Never commit..?
OR
Never admit to committing....?
yeah you're missing a 'C' in Porsche...
well, I for one, would never admit to such crimes...it brings up too many traumatic memories and all of the counselling will be a waste...

The silliest thing I've done to my car (which is my first car) is set up a flower pot around the pod filter to act as a cold air intake
I stole the idea from a suggestion Jake made that one of his buddies did... I think. I know I stole the idea from someone's mate anyway

stupid things? well, it wasnt stupid, it was pretty classy... but me and my mates had a good ole datto 120Y and bluebird wagon as rally bashin cars and we got bored one arvo and cut the exhaust clean off the bluebird. it sounded so tuff!
ive seen a few shockers too but nothing is funnier when you see a stock excel/lancer/civic.4 cylinder car with a WRX scoop on the bonnet. you get up close and you can still see the bonnet through the scoop!
another good one is a stock-as-a-rock 4 cyl with a monster tacho and shift light!

Something else I have recently done, just for a giggle on the wifes little 1973 Corolla Coupe:
At work they were cleaning out the workshop bins, and I found a shiny piece of 3" stainless pipe, about eight inches long. I took it home, and welded a mount bracket on the bottom of it, then with a muffler clamp, slid it over the drinking-straw-sized standard exhaust outlet of the Corolla, angled it down so you can't see up inside it to see the standard exhaust, and clamped it to the standard pipe. From the rear, all you can see is this little two door car with a huge diameter pipe dumping out the back.
Another one we pulled was this: A mate and I made up a fake intercooler from aluminium mesh and some appropriately-shaped side peices, then slid it up under the front, and zip-tied it into place. We then went for a burn up the main street one sunday arvo, and went past a whole bunch of those "Fast and the Furious" type Los-Angeles-dressed home boys with their WRX's, Galants, and Hynudais with massive wheels. They looked, then did a big double take as we went past...a mate at work said "that's how legends are born...they'll be telling all thier mates about the stocko-looking little old Corolla with the huge intercooler and dump pipe... "
Anything to stir a little crap....
Yeah, I too have seen hundreds of those WRX hood scoops on everything form Lancers to Hyundais...strangely mostly on old Hyundai Excels for some reason....
