Default Alarm Functions

I bought a car alarm last night, a Dominator with door, bonnet, boot, shock and microwave sensors, but it wont be getting installed until Tuesday and I after reading the manual that came with it (in Engrish) I have some more questions.

It came with two remotes, one has 4 buttons, the other one has nothing. Whats it for?

And it says that after you turn off the engine and close the doors, it automatically arms itself but doesnt lock the doors. If it disarm the alarm after turning off the car, should that stop it arming itself or doing anything stupid?

Thanks guys,
The Question Master

Do you mean when the alarms arms itself after engine shutdown? Cause that last paragraph don't make sense.

It's true you can set it too arm automatically 30 seconds after you turn off engine and close doors. But won't lock doors.
Then you would have to disarm alarm the arm alarm the doors to lock.
If you get central locking hooked up to your alarm with it.

Also with the alarm you should be able to tell it automatically re-arm and lock doors if you disarm alarm then wait 60 seconds without opening any doors.
This is just in case you unlock your car then forget something from the shops then in excitement you run back to the shops forgetting to lock your doors.
So on and so on.

Cheers,
Jim

Oh, the sense thing, what I meant was,

After you stop the engine then get out and close (all) the doors, the alarm will arm, but wont lock the doors.

I dont want it to arm, not after it's left alone or the engine is off, never. I hate things that try to be too smart and it will just get in my way.

I have a black widow and the auto arming really ****s me too
Apparently it can't be turned off, don't know about yours though. I usually leave the alarm off unless its being parked for a long time.

When the engine is turned off, it will arm the imoboliser in like 15-30 seconds, but not the alarm part, if the button is pressed agin then it will disarm the imboliser then pres it a gain and it will lock the doors etc. its as simple as pushing the buttn so cant get in you way.

OK, just got the alarm installed and so far so good. Turns out the other thing that looked like a remote was a remote with a nifty little button hider slider.

Also, I can totally disable the alarm by putting the key in the ignition for a period before the alarm rearms itself! Oh, it has anti-hijack features too, too good, thanks guys.
