Default Sick of Holden vs Ford?

Thought this might create an interesting topic. (Hopefully not turning ugly)

What do you think of the Holden vs Ford debate?

I personally don't mind it, if it's in a well natured fun way, but after looking at a typical Holden vs Ford argument on another forum today, I now know why, I hate it so much.

It's not just forums, but people in person, that take this to a personal level and piss off other people, in the process.

Please discuss, what you think about it.

I think it's pretty lame really..

Both cars have their good and bad points (yes, commo's have problems too, take off your blinkers people) and obviously both have loyal followings. It's great that so many people can take a keen interest in their cars but really the whole debate is just a touch tragic.

Here here. As much as I am all for the Holden vs. Ford debate and I tell everyone I HATE Fords, they are the second best car around.

I have never owned a Ford as a street driven car as I have always preferred the Holdens. However as a speedway car they were almost unbeatable & I have owned three.
The whole Ford versus Holden thing sh!ts me as the main reason people hate Fords is either through jealousy or or fear. They should grow up & appreciate a car for what it is not what it isnt.(unless its a ricer)

Yeah i prefer to drive a holden but the fords have their good points and yeah commies have their down sides....
Fords are heaps easier to get to their H/U commies are gay how u have to pull the hole center consol out where as on a ford u only take off the mold from around the H/U
There are a few others but yeah heaps easier to put in a stezza cept for the stupid star screws they use.....
Blinkers on a Commie biggest job for such a small thing....i wanna put clear onse on mine but dont wanna do the job.....
Im with KING DIAMOND - Muscle VS Rice not holden vs ford

But Stubborn Ford owners just give me the SH*TS

pisses me off to no end.

sure enough there is a rivalry, and its good if taken lightly. but i just get sick of these twits that start calling cars crap, just because of the name badge thats on it.

open your minds, look at the car before you look at the name badge.

besides, at the end of the day, the two australian made cars are nothing compared to what we can get elsewhere.

Well the only reason I don't like VNs, is because I think they look somewhat ugly and MOST!!!! of them sound like crap. (Unless it has 2 more cylinders )

Can't comment on what they drive like, because I haven't driven or been in one.

I don't really put down cars anymore, because they're just cars at the end of the day. (Infact one of the worst cars I've ever driven, was my mate's old N/A VL Auto and VLs are a massive favourite of mine )

I drove a Hyundai Excel courtesy car nearly to it's death. I flogged the **** out of the gutless piece of shit all day.

I know how bad they are from experience, I can put them down right?

I'm neither a Ford or Holden fanboy and I tend to stick up for both of them.
The Holden vs Ford thing is a good laugh when done in a light hearted way. But when you get the one eye'd fanboys spouting their rubbish when they obviously dont have a clue, thats when it gets annoying. There both as bad/good as each other.

Mind you the holden and Ford brigade's need to band together to get rid of the rice invasion.

The holden vs ford debate is just the same as your favourite footy team and cricket team and etc.... without passionate supporters the sports are nothing and life is boring

I like all sorts of cars but chose Holden to support at the mountain in my younger days, just because I liked Toranas.

There are models from just about each and every manufacturer that I like and dislike.
Holden vs Ford is an Aussie tradition and is fine until it becomes unfriendly rivalry, then it is pathetic just like it would be if unfriendly rivalry with ricers occured.
Overall I just like cars and these days the Commodore's and Falcon's are so close if I had to choose one it could go either way.
Both are generally reasonable value for family cars with respectable performance for their class, their longevity is an unknown though.

I'm a fence sitter too, I'm happy either way.

I usually get a laugh out of my mates when i get out of my Holden wearing my Ford T/shirt or get out of my Ford wearing my Holden jumper.

    Crazy!

You're always going to have people with completely one sided opinions without basing any of these opinions on facts, They're called Knobs.

Ford/Holden is crap because its a Ford/Holden = Knob Logic.
