Need some advice

hello all, i got out of the commodore game a long time ago but couldnt pass up on this offer, but i am really stuck for what i should do now
I have bought a vn exec with a 5 speed manual and i need to get rid of it.
should i jsut try and sell it for as much as i can, its not roadworthy but only needs a few things as i have had it checked.
Or should i take out the engine and gear box strip the shell interior suspension brakes and all the rest of the goodies and sell the empty shell to one of those collector people.
just trying to weight up my options i really need the cash so a quick fix would be better but i believe i could make alot more money if i strip the car and sell the parts of slowly

so what do you reckon

sell as parts you'll get more, but as a whole car its worth squat...

yeah well that was what i was thinking, just means ill have to strip the car and fill the garage with parts for a while

dont know anyone needing any vn parts do you, everything going very cheap 5 speed has just been recoed

yea not only would u prob get more for it but chances are u'll also sell it quicker because of the high petrol prices commodores arent sellin when they are roadworthy so my opinion is that u would hav even less chance tryin to sell an unroadworthy one

yep good point, jsut thought it might have made a good first car as i remember when i wanted a first car i wanted a vn and could never find a manual. I guess those days are gone when everyone wanted a commy for there first car.

on another note does this forum have a for sale section where i could make an expression of intrest thread for parts, just want to get an idea of how much i can get for parts, what sort of parts people are looking for an common things that go quick
im guessing the engine and gear box could go for abit i remember selling a 3.8 with auto tranny about 3 years ago for 550 so a manual should be alittle more than that, doors and everything are in good nick interior is all sweet
