Default VX Tyre Sizes 16' Rims

Just wondering what different size tyres are going to fit onto my standard VX s pack 16in rims. I currently have 225/55/16 on my car

Saw some cheap tyres in trading post with the following size 255/50/16

Is that compatible? If not.. what are other tyre specs are?

Thanks

you can fit them, but the tyres will be slightly smaller (ie 50 rather than 55) and it might put your speedo out a little, but if you're strapped for cash and need tyres they'll do

255's on a 7 inch wide rim? Doubt they'd fit in the guards to start with.

The width of the rim is 7 inch not sure if you can fit it on a 255/50/16 tyre tho

Ahhh no mate. The 255's would actually be 7.5mm bigger in terms of circumference. The profile is a ratio, not a measurement.

225/55/R16 means its 225mm wide and the profile is 55% of 225mm... compared to 50% of 255mm..

Hope that makes sense... too tired to make a better explanation.

255's wont fit on a 7 inch wide rim anyway.

235's would just about be max.
