quickest vl in aus

hi tonight i witnessed a vl turbo drag car ran 8.4 first run... last run i think he did 8.2(might of been 8.3) but anyway, is that a new record because the team was jumpin all over the place like they broke a new record?

all at calder tonight(1AM - so technically, last night) anyways...

There are faster cars out there than that. So it may have just been a team record or something. The team could have been jumping around for a number of reasons, but still...

if that is a drag car that is very slow, as there are many street legal vls in melbourne running 9s in street trim, exchaser and pannic are ones that dose it with ease, type in pannic into youtube and see what it shows

I reckon low 8s, from a sinlge Turbo 3 Litre, is awesome, considering there's much larger engines, running the same times.

Whats the quickest NA VL? Now that would be interesting. Anyone can have a quick straight line car with huge turboes, having a car run in the 8's NA is what is impressive. Just look at Nathan Higgins pushing into low 9's...i find that more impressive.

Did this "Drag Car" still have a RB30T engine or something else?
Cause Street Commodores issue 117 featured a VL drag car running 7.97 @ 171mph. Modified in just about every way though including a 505ci Chev Big Block so it's hardly a VL now but still quite an impressive time.

Nobody wants to take the rb30e to the limits though. Value for money its just not worth it.

Yeah all the times I've mentioned were rb30ets.

Theres full drag setups with chevs and the like - not quite the same.

It's not that bad, considering there really isn't a strong aftermarket, for the N/As and a shitload, for Turbos.
