Default Roll Pins and stuck drill bits

    Gday

I have an axle that I need to replace two roll pins and 2 half moon woodruff keys on it, and I tried to get the roll pins out with a drill bit, as the hole doesn't go all the way through. I snapped the drill bit (it's about 2.5mm) and I tried drilling out the key itself (I got a replacement key and roll pin) but that snapped too. I was wondering how I can get the drill bit out (it's wedged in well and tweezers didn't work)

There are special drill bits that you can use at extremely high speed to drill out the broken drill bit. These same drill bits then can be used to remove the roll pin. The roll pin will be a hardened steel & will keep detroying a normal drill bit.

Go to 'all tools' or an engineering place and ask for a tungsten drill bit. This drill bit has a goldish tint to distinguish them. They are specially hardened and should drill through your broken drill bit.Good luck.

Oh well I f**ked the shaft up, new one costs $50, could be worse. 10 drill bits later and no complete ones left, stupid $30 kit
