Default Manual...new diff?

wat do people reckon about manual conversions and getting a new diff. if you drive the manual hard do you think the stock diff will be up to it? or maybe better to go with LSD or a spooled diff?

they use the same diff don't they???
should be able to easily take it, however, it'd be worth the money to get an LSD with 3.7 gears or similar

Manuals have a higher geared diff anyway. IIRC the VT/VX manual has a 3.73 geared diff as opposed to a 3.08 with the auto..

However he has a VR...

VR/VS Commodores had 3.08 ratios in Automatics and Manuals, as did the VN/VP's.

All the factory manuals out there are doin just fine with the exact same diff as you man, so somehow I dont think there will be a problem... LSD would be worth it though..

If you get a second hand one, get it rebuilt, tightened, acid washed etc. and while you are at it, get some new diff gears put in. Will end up alot cheaper still than having your diff converted with a brand new LSD.
