Anyone had there car seats reupholstered? If so how much did it set you back?
I'd be interested in what it roughly costs. I'm thinking of getting this done myself. I can't imagine it'd be overly expensive.

^ Yea hopefully not to much. If its pretty cheap I might go for an orange interior to match the competition orange I'm planning on painting my VL.
I had my RX2 done, was a velour roof lining, new carpet throughout, seats bolstered front and rear, Custom Grey on Black trim for seats, door trims done in a grey and black doortrims, was $1800. Was done 4 years ago, so maybe a little more to be done now.

Bugga. So I would say my seats alone would cost at the very least about $400.
mines in getting done at the moment (lucky I know the guy)
whole inside depending on what you want done starts about 1400 up
^ Shit, bit more than I expected. I spose I could do the carpet myself that might save a hundred or so dollars. I can do the parcel part or whatever its called. So I'm probably looking arounf $1000, which should be done before Christmas.

you can always DIY it, you can order the material fully made, stiched and embrioded with any holden logo and it comes with a complete step by step guide on how to install the upholstery...

Im thinking of getting mine done with these guys... finding out prices now.

Fitting new seat upholstery is not difficult if you have the proper tools. You need "hog-ring" pliers and the hog rings, side cutters, good pliers, screwdrivers, a nice clean work area and a bit of nous.
Usually the old covers are retained by the hog rings around the bottom of the seat and backrest, although modern vehicles also use plastic clip-in fittings that lock into the seat frame. Once you have undone any clips/rings, the seat cover will usually slide olff and the new one can be slid over and retained.
You will have issues if the padding for the seat is stuffed. You can't just put some foam in to fill the gaps, it needs to be the right density and shaped to fit. That's where the specialists usually are required.
Retrimming doors is also a mixed bag. Modern door trims tend to be mounded and are quite inticate, just recovering them won't work very well. The separate inserts can be done quite simply but the main section of the door trim might be left to the pro's again.
Wow... these guys look good... the 3rd set of pics is what my old grey VR SS seats look like atm. I really really like the look of the white HSV interior, and the doors look good with the black door card and white insert... *starts dreaming*
If I was to get this done I'm thinking very similar colours to the HSV, but with red SS embroidered on it to keep with the white and red theme... although the black ones would look a bit better with the current interior, I'd have to re-do the carpet etc to make the white look half decent...
