for people who dont know, like me...
if you have 19's, check your tyre placard for what size ur rims were that came on your car. you arent allawed any larger than 2" bigger.
you can get a permit i think for them from a licencing... the cop that pulled me over wasnt an arse, he let me off... but you can get a yellow sticker.
same as extractors.. have to have a permit for them too... emmissions and sound i guess.

This is all over the site mate. 2" larger is a very VERY well known law.
However it can be argued, as Greenfoam found ADR 24: Tyre and Rim Choice is no longer in effect as of January 1, 2005. I've been arguing with Transport SA about it for like a month now.
ADR 23 now covers Passenger Car Tyres, which states the rule that the overall diameter cannot change by more than 15mm and all that crap, but has no mention of rim size. Tyres can now be 30% larger than stated on tyre placard also.
ADR 42: General Safety Requirements has a section called Tyre and Rim Choice as well, and Transport SA told me this covers the 2 inch rule, however having read ADR 42 (all 4 or 5 versions), I havent found any mention of it...
