New Live Chat Page

hi darren i was just thinking,would it be possible to have a live chat page going ,i know it might not be possible here but it would be interesting to be able to chat to each other directly sometimes,what do you think

the only problem that will happen with a live chat page is that not many people are here at any one point in time, for exapmle the most people on at once was back in october, and that was 21 people. i quess we could give it a go, and see what happens cant we

garth you could be right on that,but maybe if we have a live chat page people will all gather more at nite and weekends and probably would stay on line longer,as it is you log on then read any new stuff have your say then leave

yeah i would sometimes prefer to chat to people instead of postin topics (don't get me wrong i still enjoy postin) even though i am generally asking questions not answering them oh well. i reckon the chat rooms a good idea

Personally I think it's a great idea but we'll have to see how it goes. Leave it with me and I'll see what I can come up with.

Anyone here good at writing a good script for the chat program?

I have got one at the moment which I am just testing at present.

It's not the nicest looking one but appears to be one of very few where it can use the database which is already in place.

On the downside I am having a lot of trouble trying to work it to work as it should. Looking at the support forum I am not alone in this respect.

If anyone can recommend something I'm all ears, the other alternative I guess is an IRC room?

hi darren i dont think it really matters what it looks like at first as long as it works,the irc idea does that take us away from our site here,if it does i dont think it would be as good

Thanks Salem, I will have a look at that when I get to work. I'm doing the last shift tonight so hopefully I can come up with something in the mean time.

I agree fergi. I don't want to head in that direction either but I'll see what I can do.
