Hi Guys,
In an effort to keep my commodore as clean as possible, I started cleaning underneath the front windscreen rubber seal to get all the muck out. Got a little impatient finishing the job and accidently lifted a section (top of the windscreen) of the rubber seal. Now what I've got is a little gap in the rubber that let's in anything, leaves you name it. I have to constantly remove crap from there to prevent rust developing.
I have tried to reseat the seal but no joy. Does anyone out there know how to reseat that rubber seal?
grab some sikaflex and put a dab of that in the gap, then push it back down and hold it there with something (like something heavy wrapped in a cloth, or even duct tape) that should sort it out.
other than that im pretty sure your only option is to re-do the whole lot...ie, take out the windscreen and re-seal it back in.
Thanks for the feedback. Tried the sikaflex, no joy. Will have to wait until the windscreen needs replacing. The seal is still good, its just that there is a small gap between the metal and the rubber that lets in a bit more rubbish that usual.
It would help if you posted what model your talking about.
