Default When did the V6 get sequential injection?

Just wondering if anyone knows when sequential fuel injection came in on the V6? I'm trying to ID an engine that a mate of mine has put in his VS, he says it's not an ecotec and the engine cover has the words "3800 V6" and "Sequential injection" on it. I haven't gotten the engine number off him yet which would obviously be the easiest way of working it out, but I'm just a bit confused because the VR had bank fire injection IIRC and sequential injection came in on the VS ecotec. Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Neil.

I think I've answered my own question, it has a MAF and the ecotec engine cover, therefore it's gotta be an ecotec right?

Thanks heaps to both of you, I know bugger all about the V6, although now that you mention it I haven't ever seen a buick with an engine cover.

The VR got it. It was fitted to the older style buick motor. It had a cam sensor added to it and ran the better injection. The Ecotec was introduced with the arival of the VS.
The VN/VP and related V6 models had the injectors firing at the same time. The VR had the sensor on the cam to tell the computer when to fire each injector.

    >> EDIT I stand corrected. the VR isn't quite sequential injection. So yeah then it would be the VS.
