just wondering what cleans seats the best, its an exec so just the standard material, but there are some "love" markings and im just wondering what the best way to get rid of them is?
haha....try a citrus cleaner they usually get most kinds of stains out and it even smells good when its drying![]()
Can you be more specific about 'citrus' cleaner? I have stains on my seats, like someone left something dirty on there and then it got wet, its like a dirty outline with a clean center. Same seats, i.e. standard VP exec cloth stuff, kinda open pore synthetic wool at a guess? I would really like to hear about cleaning stories before I go at them, as I dont want to make them worse, and the rest of the interior is A1 beautiful!

well with citrus cleaner, you wet a rag with it and rub the stain, let it soak for a couple of minutes and rub the stain again with a clean wet rag and it should come out. if it doesnt then take your seats out and hit them with a hotwash or steam cleaner
simple upholstry cleaner works well on most things, just the one you buy in a can and spray it on and it foams up.
attack the area with the applicator on the top of the lid, repeat a couple of times and it should be sweet.
about the only thing ive noticed it cant get rid of completely is old grease marks, they're just embedded too much into the fibre.
ah awesome just from somewhere like marlows auto one etc. btw i just converted my car to manual so if anyone has any questions or is curious as to how it goes compared to the auto then let me know, happy to answer any questions.
You can get it from any good auto shop or Big W etc.
I like my roo well done

dont blow $20 of your your hard earned on meguires cos thats what everyone else uses,
I cleaned the velour headlining in my VK calais with 2 bottles of Nifti (cleaning aisle at the safeway/coles etc), total cost $4.80, spray it on then rub with a WHITE rag, dont use coloured rags or you may get dye transfer from the rag to whatever your cleaning.
Like most auto cleaners dont get the stuff on things its not meant for, ie plastic.
I was very happy with the result. you'll need to frequently rinse and wring out the rag, you'll be surprised at how much crap stains into fabric.
BEFORE YOU GET TOO CARRIED AWAY THOUGH, try it in a small inconspicuous spot to make sure it doesnt rip the dye out of the seat fabric.
good luck,

well ive heard of loving your car but dude keep that loving outa the seats and in the exhuast :P no one can see the inside colour of ur exhaust tip
Get a citrus degreaser, take the seats out, spray them and hit them with a pressure washer.Do it on a hot weekend so they have time to dry.Dont laugh till you try it.It will clean them to look almost new.Got a cheap VP the other day and that will be getting the treatment.shit i used cheap crap degreaser on an EA i was flogging and the seats were a mess.(bike chain oil)grimy sweat stains on door trim(foul)and it removed the lot and didnt stink.
the meguairs cloth cleaner works a charm.

haha i love my car but sometimes theres nothing better than love in my car, but yes meguairs does work very well![]()
So how often is there a second person involved?![]()
...I'm not much into armoral (can't remember how to spell it) but I've used their upholstery stain remover, which comes in the black spray bottle. Works fantastic. I used it to remove grease on velour door trim that was left by a careless panel beater when they removed the door, and brake dust off the back seat when I couldn't fit all four wheels in the boot. Can even get it from your local supermarket.
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!
Don't be stupid. Power isn't measured by the size of your tacho
you could always try prepsol or brake cleaner, they get grease marks out of carpet without fading the material.
Its a common miss conception that people actually use their brains before they speak.
mate, its not asbout being tight, its being clever, a friend told me about it. btw my velour interior is mint again as a result of an afternoon's work, looks like it would've just when it hit the dealership showroom. Do what you want , its your money, but i'd rather put that $20 on other things for the car.
to be honest Ive used some meguirs stuff before, some is crap like their wheel cleaner, was acid based but said nothing about it on the container (I could smell sulfamic acid - same as that used in CLR), that shit will not touch my aeros.. I used a good solvent trick instead, removed all the break dust with no corrosion damage to the alloy.
and other stuff is awesome like their black trim detailer (excellent for VK/VK mirrors and the blackouts on the A and B pillars).
Read the cloth trim care instructions in the Holden Manual, there's a reason its in there.
never thought to read that, i didnt even know they had a section in there. meguairs must be doing something caus i bought some of those cloth things that they say to wipe it with and they were filthy when i was done with them. cane_it can i ask who is in your picture? just curious...dont tell if u dont want to haha![]()
