Door Handle Replacement

Hi guys,

A little while back I broke the handle on my VN Calais, and have since gotten hold of a replacement. But as you could have expected the key to my existing door handle (broken one) doesn't work on the replacement.

I was wanting to know does anyone know if it is possible to take the locking mechanism out of the broken door handle and put this mechanism into the replacement so that I can still use my key???

I think I may have worked out how to do this but I thought that I would ask you guys first before I starting pulling things apart.

Your help would be greatly appreciated guys

It should be possible. When you take the old one out, before putting the new one in, just fiddle round with until you work out how to get the lock out. Then you should be able to swap them over once you know how it's done.

hey guys,
my vr got broken ito n i had to change the door handle as well. on the back of the lock there is a u shaped pin, take that off and the lock should slide straight out through the bac of the handle.

Same thing happened to my mate. shouldnt be too hard for ya to swap them over

There is like a horse shoe shaped clip on sliders that holds the barrel on the door handle. Should be the same on the vn i just recently did it on my vr when i resprayed it.
