Default Ride Heights for Cars

Legal Ride Height for Cars & Min Steering Wheel Diamiter

I posted this thread a few months back in the SA section,
I was just looking though my reps just then and found this thread again, so i though i would post it up for all the members of JC to see.
I assume the infomation would be useful for all around Australia not just South Australia as all the rules are based on the same regulations.

It can be used as a guideline in other states only.

Every state has different laws regarding height, in particular eye height. In fact many states have NO legal eye height, you just need to stick to the 100mm off the ground rule.

Wot he says! The most reliable place to check would be your local RTA. All of the regs are available on the net. For Victoria the URL is www.vicroads.vic.gov.au

I wouldn't rank anything else much higher than hear-say and look for the appropriate document to see the requirement in black and white. (That also goes for more than a few ill-informed police and rta officers opinions).

NSW, RTA says:

100mm ground clearance at lowest inflexible point - ie mud flaps dont count
Suspension must maintain 2/3 original travel - not sure on that, but it is something like that.. I'll look for the email
