15 day repair for 2 pannels?????

hi all,
long time reader first time poster....
i was hit by a truck about 10 days ago, took her into my insurance company and they said it will take 5 days to repair, fair enough,
by this time iam driving a corolla whitch iam paying 15 bucks a day to rent,
thats ok to..
day 5 i get a phone call that the car wont be ready for another 5 days,
fair enough,
the day before i was supposed to oickup my car i get another phone call,
your car wont be ready for another 5 days!! 15 in total....
the reason thay gave is that they coundnt grt the inner quater pannel???
now i have no rent a car, and have 5 more days to wait to get my wheels back?????
iam i geting fked around???
should i go to the repairer and ask him for a car????

Don't know about Oz,but here in NZ if you can put a good case to the insurance company that you need your car and it was the other vehicles fault (meaning that their insurance will be footing the bill!),then a rental is paid for by them.Most of the panel shops here have loaners also(good for return buisness), so it might be the same for you guys? worth asking in either case.

Bit steep to have to pay for a loaner. I have mine booked in next week for a small job and the courtesy car is free of charge. The only downside is that if you prang it, the excess is considerably high.

I'd be ringing your insurance company and asking THEM for the car. Tell then your circumstances, that you need a car for work or whatever reason and that the repairer is screwing you around big time. If they refuse then it would be time to get a little more angry and ask to speak directly with your case supervisor, and that you'll be taking your insurance business elsewhere after you get the car back. That will scare them.

I'd be enquiring bout having one supplied. It's a little harsh, having to pay for the hire car yourself especially if the accident wasn't your fault. Call the insurance company, and see what they say.
