hornet scoop? what ya recon?

i wanna put a hornet scoop on my vk (202 efi) and wanted to know what you recon? i think they look mean as but think i should have a mean v8 to go with it?

i was looking at a vk and it had that scoop and looks to die for pity the car didnt run as good as it looked.

A v8 would make it sound as good as it looks but i still reckon chuck it on with the 202!

it all comes down to what u like and want but if i saw a radical scoop like that on a 202 i would just laugh and shake my head... 5ltr would be different though

it would still be good on the 202 if it has a nice exhaust note. the old 202's can sound pretty mean with the right exhaust. i say if you like the look of it then do it.

Yea man cut a hole on the right hand side then get a tripple stack airfilter then bolt the hood on.

I know what u mean about the sound of 202's so many ppl thought mine was an 8 lol

its an Fuel injected 202 not carby and its not very loud even though its got a 2.5" exhaust and extractors.
I don't know if its worth the $75 bucks for it though. I was looking for the more box shaped one and found this one ebay.

up to you what you do with your car BUT my opinion is dont do it..... spend that money on something else.... but if u had an 8, well might aswell make it LOOK like its a weapon

I agree if it was an 8 then colour code it to the rest of the car and sweet. but on a six, it don't even line up in the right spot.

Personally I'm not too sure about the combination,mean looking,fire breathing monster in the front with a six's noise from the back! Be a bit like watching Bill Goldberg at the wrestling grabbing the microphone with huge hands then talking into it with an effeminate voice

My brother had a Hornet scoop on a HQ wagon he bought many years ago off a bloke that was desperate for a quid, so he got it cheap. It did look nice. (although one may say a VERY different car). The wagon had a 308 that resembled a A9X motor, and went just as well. Unfortunately at the time, he could only afford dodgy 3 speed gearboxes..... a few of them at that.

doesnt really stop rain much either, but it would be good for cooling s 202 run better hot but not super hot, not cold

Id have the scoop in the middle more closet to the rear of the bonnet to cool down the rear half the the engine.
