    Default First HSV

Hello people, I'm not sure if this is in the correct catergory or not but I'm really curious as to exactly which was the very first Holden to wear the HSV badge, I know there was some SV models, but i'm after the first HSV, thanks

Doesn't the VL Walkinshaw have HSV badges? I would say it would be the first. It was the first real HSV in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure that's correct. Was also the first holden V8 to get injection. Even the poor old Brock VL was Carbed!

The reason I ask is there is a guy who lives around the corner and drives a Vq Statesman, it looks completly stock, his personalised licence plate makes a reference to "SV" and he has an HSV badge on the back, now whenever I drive past in my Clubsport he gives me evils even driving on the road he has to "roar" past me to try and show off (not that it works) thats why I wanted to know which was the first Holden to wear an HSV badge.

There is an HSV Statesman SV90 and Statesman SV93, both with a 180kw V8. They came out about 1990. HSV were established in 1987/88.

To be honest, I would take your VS Clubby over it. I reckon VR-VS Clubbies are one of the best looking HSVs ever made. The guy is probably a wanker.

Thanks for your help, you know It's quite annoying whenever I drive anybody with a VR VS VP or any of those commodores drive near me for some reason they have to show me how "tough" their car is by zooming past, I can hear of stock their car is and I could easily flog them in a drag, not that I would, I'll let them get speeding tickets or smash their cars, they are usally the one's who have "HSV" stickers on their cars when their cars are clearly not.

First HSV with the H would possibly be the VN Clubsport, or VQ Statesmans. Although i don't think they had anything more than SV on the badging. VP HSVs deffinatly had the normal HSV badge on them.

You take the same attitude as me. I get ricer boys trying to race me at the lights. I'll let them flog the crap out of their little jap piece of crap, I just don't want to ruin my well-maintained car. I don't know why they even bother, a stock commo would beat the crap out of most of these rice boy cars you see anyway. Speaking of stock commo's, I saw a white VR execcy with a big HSV sticker on the back window. I pointed and laughed. Idiots. Do they even know what HSV is?

Same here even tho I have a VS Acclaim and I have done mods to my engine and exhaust/others, and that I'm on my P's - every time another P-plater with a rice box or commy tries to show off their ride and force for a drag from the lights. I mean I don't really mind P-platers on holdens revving the sh!t out of their pride and joy but forcing me into a drag is not on, especially on public roads and big intersections where it mostly happens to me.

According to that site, the March 1990 VN HSV 8 Plus is technically the first 'H'SV, which is what he was after.

    He said non SVs.

Thanks for the research people, here is another story of annoyance, every morning I take my son to the local primary school and for almost the whole year there has been 1 particular woman who showed her true colours, as we only live 5 mins walk from the school we have always walked and got along fine with her and most other parents, she drives a Vs Calais that has the HSV racing logo badge that goes on the boot lid and the front of the bonnet, well one day I pulled up and parked opposite her at the end of school one day, I could she her staring at my car, I then get out of the car, locked it and started to walk into the school well ever since she saw who owns the Clubsport she wont say anything to me at all, now I don't understand the jealousy I mean there is no point getting annoyed because someone has something you badly want, thats worse behaviour than the grade 4 kids, anybody else get this sort of rubbish behaviour?

Why the hell would anyone stop talking to you because you have a better car? They are all Holdens so who cares right? I drive a VR Calais but I admire people who have an older VN Calais or even an old VC SL/R. Lovely cars. I don't think it matters at all. I take pride in my car and it is almost as stock as the day it rolled off the assembly line. I'm not going to bother wasting my time trying to improve a car I think is already a pleasure to drive just to attract more attention. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Same here, I find something really attractive about the Vn Aero!! I mean she really is acting so imature, the only thing I can put it down to is she must really want one that bad because she put the HSV racing badges on the boot and bonnet of her car instead of the Holden Lion, I suppose next she'll say my car is crap because it's a v8 and hers is 6.
One day I had to drive into the school grounds to return some chairs we had borrowed, it was before school had started and before she arrived, anyway she parks her car in her spot, starts walking into the school and straight away becomes red faced and walking slower than normal, she gets to the seat with her kids, tells them she will be back in a minute goes back to her car and moves it to the other outof sight side of the school, she then comes back to her seat I start my car up to take it home and it has a really smooth deep exhaust note (the only non stock part of the car) and she storms off, this just makes me feel sorry for her.

i think that makes her borderline crazy, assuming it not just a coincidence.
I really doubt that someone would act lke this, and i think there was something else that has happened in the story that were not getting.

Personally i think the VR/S Clubbys are the most overrated HSV. they mark the start of the production era of HSV, as opposed to VN and VP where you get limited builds.

No there is nothing else to the story, this is how she behaves, it's quite sickening, for almost the whole year she was talking and joking with us untill she saw our car.

i agree 100%,and with all the fake vr/s clubbys its hard to tell even when you do see a real one.

except with the (VS GTS/R) that's what i call a real HSV
