    Default Air Horn relays????

Hi guys just wondering about the relay that came with my air horn. The voltage is differrent to the one in my VT and also does not fit into the horn relay area as it is too big. Can I use the one that I have already for the standard horn or do I need an auto electrician to rewire it sumhow to accomodate this relay. I think one is 6V the other is 12V (Ie must be for the air horn compresssor).

Let me know with any info....

    Cheers

if your air horn compressor is 12 volt .... just find the wire going from the relay to the standard horn ... buy a 2 way switch ... on-off-on .... run the standard horn wire back to the new switch ... run one wire to the standard horn ... run another wire to the air horn ... this way you can choose which horn to use in case you might attract the attention of the police ...

i have 5 Bosch relays all 30 amp that i got from a VT at the dump last week ... just replace the 16A with a 30A relay and replace fuse with the same rating as the air horn ...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you mean the relay won't fit because the pins on the relay don't line up with the VT relay socket??
I was confused now I'm just not so sure!!

You wire the relay independently to the original horn relay. So you will have two relays, one for the stock horn, one for the air horns. (Which are illegal if they play a tune by the way).

^^^ and also illegal if they are not hooked up serperately from the stock horn. They gotta be on a switch as Hairy Eater mentioned
