i was just wondering what steering racks are the same as vn's. i would be thinking vp are the same but wasn't sure about vr/vs or vl. also i take it there isn't any difference between v6 and v8..
their different, the gear from the p/steering rack into the steering thingo is different.
which are different.. all of them?? v8 - v6???
uhm, between the models VN/VP their different i dont know between like exec/ss but id imagine theyd be the same.
i thought the 6's and 8's had a difference? I am almost certain.

they might, but i doubt it. the only difference would be the bit on the rack that connects to the stering shaft.
i don't understand why v6 and v8 would be any difference other than gearing
vl and vn/vp = the same....
only differnce is there's a steel oil line at the back with steel fittings on vn/vp and on the vl rack it has plastic fittings or something
v6 v8 = same same....
apparently the width difference between the vl and vn is made up in the tie rod ends.
Also the VQs? and like the VP calais or so had stock or had an option for variable rate racks
me and a mate wrecked a vq and it HAD a new rack in it till i broke it getting the motor out. i was using the front end loader and the two watching weren't giving me very good hand signals and the crossmember caught it and broke it..
does anyone know what wears out on them. are they rebuildable. ???
power steering racks are rebuildable to an extent, you gotta replace the rubber seal thingoes in them and whatnot.
