im just wondering the differance between a vs clubby and a vr clubby ive looked and cant seem to tell the differance apart from the price range is much lower on a vr clubby
You should look for a VR Senator IMO... they are the best bargain HSV.
But I'm not sure why your thinking of selling the VS for a 304 though as the VR Clubsport (man) and Senator (auto) 0-100km times are 8.4sec and 8.6sec (According to Wheels magazine)... and I know I can crack under 8sec with just a K&N... so selling your boosted Calais will be a step back in performance not to mention 304's are more thirsty !!!

Both have 185 KW 304 engines...
It's mainly just the wheels, interior trim and a different grill thats all the difference in them.

arrr k..yes i love the calais but i really miss my v8s
Yeah I miss the relaxedness of my old 304 4spd as it didn't matter what gear you were in... mainly I just miss the manual... but If I were going to go back to an 8 now it's going to be a built up Forced Balltearer... but I'll live with the Calais until I can afford that.
I'd go a Gen3 VT SS if just spending a little upgrading to be behind an 8 again as 304's are really dated !!! Sure you can do them up but a Gen3 or better is the best direction to go for real easy horsepower...

throw a few modz at the l67. they go hard with a few small modz
i wouldnt go to far and say that the 304s are thirsty!! of cousre if you thrash it everywhere it will be but normal driving, i reckon they are much more economical then the v6(buick), dont know how they would compare to the l67 but... but the 304s arent as bad as you would think on the fuel
your dreaming if you think the 5l v8 is "much more economical" than any of the holden v6's.
i can get 550-600kms out of a tank in the old vn with all the usual mods... the vq 5l i got can probably get close to 700kms to a tank taking the same route which is alot of stop start traffic, and that isnt necessarily driving like a granny... i know im only on my l's but it is good to give the engines a good clean out every now and then...
the comment wasnt "nearly as economical", it was much more economical, which is jibber jabber. you can get a v6 around 10 to 11l per 100 if you try.
dosent the VQ have a high capacity fuel tank?
i rekon the vn v6 range wouuld have the 63 litre tank so 17 less litres of fuel.
