hey, i was wondering do you buff plastic bumpers or do you have to paint the clear on really smooth, so you dont need to buff it?
because getting into all the tricky spots will be hard with a buff.
but im not sure what to do so i hope somebody does and they can tell me...thanks![]()

I'm sure the bumpers have the same paint as the car... I polish all on my VX.. bumpers too...
ok thanks, but I've just re-sprayed my car and the bumpers have just had their clear coats sprayed on it, so my bumpers are pretty much straight off the gun (fresh paint).
I havent polished them yet and I thought it would be a bit hard to polish such small plastic pieces.
Because when you paint the clear coat over the colour it makes it a bit more shinny but not glossy. So thats why you buff it to bring out the gloss/metallic in the colour.
But im not sure if I should buff the plastic bumpers or paint on the clear coat really thin (not orange peal) to make it smooth instead of buffing it.

hit what u can with a buff ( ever so gently of course!!) the in the groves i would do it by hand lightly. It all depends how badly pealed they are really, it may not be worth doing them at all.
ok thanks mate, ill give 'em a go gently first on the good spots then ill do the groves by hand. its not badly pealed just a little bit in some area's.
Cheers...
