Default Advice needed! (What to buy)

My mate's been wanting a Commodore for a long time, since he first got his P's. His first car was a Ford, now he's thinking about finally seeing the light and coming over to the good side.

He's got say, between 5,500 and 8,000 grand.

    He's tossing up between,
VS 2 Berlina, VS Calais, VT Exec/Acclaim

Basically, with prices and stuff the way they are, he could get a low kms VS berlina/calais for about 5,500/ 7 grand. Or a VT Executive (Berlina's and Acclaims would be a tad out of his price range) for about 6/7,000.

He wants a bit of kit, power this, power that... and relatively low kms.

So what should he do ? Go for the slighty older (and older tech) model in the calais/berlina but get the goodies... or go for a VT exec/acclaim with half as many goodies but a bit newer ?

    Advice ! ?

I would go the VS calais, more goodies n will have lil more money left ova to do sum small mods.

I would rather have sum luxury then a newer base model.

    Yeah ! i reckon.

I also told him VS' use a bit less petrol (so I've heard) and have a better power to weight ratio right ?

More eccon would be from the VS being that tad lighter than VT's as they still have the same ecotec.

The calais interior is soo much more comfortable than exec's thats a win to start with.

    They aren't ALL the ecotec

see my site for a few photos of VS Calais interior. Much nicer than standard I reckon.
