Afterberth?

Probably a stupid question but you don't have power steering in the rolla?

Pajero LWB Wagon, Power/economy what's that ???
Check all the steering joints first. I had a K55 that did the same thing. Just look for loose or dry ball joints etc.
Afterberth? I assume you mean preignition. What fuel are you using?
If you are using normal unleaded you may need to adjust the timing or try premium unleaded for a day or two. Cleaning your plugs and points may also be the solution especially if that LRP crap has been used in the car and fouled up the head and plugs. I'm also assuming it is not running hot.

Just my thoughts anyway

1. my camry did the same, was a wheel bearing had to have the hub replaced.
2. timing could be out, could be a build up of carbon which gets hot and acts as spark causing run-on. check the timing and run some premium unleaded through it or some kind of petrol additive that knocks carbon build up. do this a couple of tanks then check and clean the plugs.
id recommend sticking with the premium unleaded as it keeps the engine cleaner, great for older ULP cars - certainly worth the few extra cents you pay for it.

let us know how you go....
