Saw this VY SS on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....076015635&rd=1
no VIN or anything like that... so was a bit suss and for $11,500 even more suss.
Msged the guy and this is the reply i got.. see if it makes sense to you..lol
"Hello,
Thank you for your interest in my car.The car is a Australian model ( still registered in
Australia) in a great history and mechanically without any problems ever safety check and
pre-delivery inspection along with a fresh servicing before I ship or deliver the vehicle.
Price is $ 11,500 AUD if you buy now.
The problem is that in the meanwhile I had to move with my family in Amsterdam,
Netherlands where I got a new job as a construction engineer. I brought the car here with
me with the intention of driving it but when I found out about the very high import duties
and all the restrictions regarding registration and emissions tests here I have made up my
mind and decided to sell the vehicle.
I will take care of all transport arrangements. Usually shipment takes maximum 12 to 15
days depending on your location and will be fully insured against damages, shipped in a
crated container.....on my cost!!
Here's what I suggest: you make a $ 7,000 AUD deposit in an ebay managed trust fund
( they hold the money until you receive the car ), I ship the car over, you can inspect it,
take it to a mechanic to check it out, drive it and then pay the remaining ballance.
Terms: The transaction will be closed only through eBay, so both you (as a buyer) and I (as
a seller) be protected.
If you agree with my above terms, I'm sure that we can close the deal as soon as
possible.
I have reserved the car for you until I will have your final answer.
Regards,"
tsk tsk....
That is suspiciously cheap. Stolen or has a major problem maybe?
A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any other invention in human history, with the possible exception of handguns and tequila.
the guy wants $7000 deposit and is registered ebay user from the US - supposedly living in amsterdam
im guessing someone has hacked his/her account..
its a rippppp
something similar to this has been posted before.
its an ACT regoed car, i cant quite work out where the pics were taken
There was a car advertised on ebay a while ago that was an insurance buy back or something. The car was a recovered stolen vehicle but had no id plates or rego although it had a plate on it. I reckon someone has taken photos of a car, listed it hoping someone pays the deposit then hacks your ID as well to confirm the transaction. Easiest 7k he'll ever make.
scam writen all over it
this exact same car was for sale out at a fyshwick caryard just 2 weeks ago for $26,000 or something around that
I have had someone offer me a second chance on a set of wheels that I was outbid on on ebay.....sussed him out and he was very dodgy and mentioned that the money would be in some sort of ebay fund that would be released on my sayso if I was happy with them.
Too dodgy so I left it alone ....the prick ended up being from overseas and it was obviously a scam

ABSOLUTE SCAM!!! Two months ago I came across a '66 Mustang. Green, in total mint condition and RHD conversion done all for $6000 on carsales. Out of curiosity I emailed the seller and the reply was that the guy moved to England and took the car with him but couldn't register it due to registration and emission hassles so he offered to ship it back to Australia at his cost and the money would be held by Carsales until the buyer agreed to keep the car and release the money to the seller. The car was gone in less than 24 hours. I hope someone didn't buy it. This scam seems to become more and more frequent.
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!
Don't be stupid. Power isn't measured by the size of your tacho
that same ad was on ebay about 4 months ago and i reported him same guy had a elanor mustang fully rebuild for 15000 a camaro and a few others all under different id's when i checked all the sign up dates they were all on the same day
sent him a few emails saying i new what he was doing and i am reporting him to the federal police , reported him to ebay and the auctions were gone within a day
someone should report it... i would but i dont have an ebay account, i use mums![]()
Item reported.
i emailed some scammer about an r34 skyline once.. pretty much the same story.. i hate those fvkcen scammers
what a dodgy cun* can tell it is suss just by reading it

yeah. there is too much info for a start. but it is info that is only listing what the car has. nothing personal..
ebay trust account? wtf....
i think i read somewhere that ebay only insures for 1500$ dollars i think. not too sure on automotive.
it's unfortunate that some people might rush in on that.
yeah its a scam cause ive busted like 15 people trying to sell cars really cheap on drive.com & carsales.com reported them & the cars were taken off the next day bastards
i also wrote to them & same reply for each one they had moved to an overseas country & had to sell the car urgently thats y it was so cheap
f***ers i hate scamers
Ford Escort me to a Holden dealer.
GO drive on australia
Well apart from the auction being a total scam, the moron is a liar stating his location is Sydney. I hope the ebay member gets the boot.
If you beleive that ad you'll beleive anything!
Just aholes praying on the stupidity of others.
I reported it also - it since has been removed.
But before it was - i asked the seller for the Rego and VIN and this was the response... (joke) lol
"Maybe you'll think that I'm a little paranoid but look what happened to a good friend of mine who tryed to sell his car last month.. someone asked him to send a copy of the title, VIN number, engine number and never closed the deal with that person.. after 2 weeks he found himself in a big fraud made by that man and I really do not want to have this kind of problems
Please provide your full name, ebay user ID and shipping address and I will get everything started immediately. Afterwards, ebay will invoice you the transaction details and payment instructions. All you will need to do is follow through with their guidelines.
Thank you,"
its 2 guys in south africa
theres been over 40 of these scams now
the laws in there region protect them from being prosecuted, and they hack ppls accounts with good feedback, nearly immposible to catch them
I had my account hacked and about 40 listings placed within minutes under my 100% feedback username. Ebay had picked it up before I even noticed, credited all the fees back and suspended my account until I went through the vefification process.
i come across the same deal. bloke saying he lived in amsterdam and then car was in a shipping container in queensland and that it can be shipped to my location. i checked out the shipping company that he said he was using and did an tracking number search on it and it seemed legit, but looking closer the site seemed a bit weird so i search it through google and come across the official site. the scammer set up a whole new site based of an actual company, changed addresses and phone numbers but kept the same layout and logos.
so i got in contact with the real company told them about it and now they are suing his arse.
Yeah, there was a monaro on there ages ago fro like 18G...
and 12 to 15 days to ship it.....
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA BAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH ARGH HAHAHAHAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
It would be like 2 to 3 weeks before it got onto a ship and then like a another 2 to 3 weeks to get down here!!
Thats so suss, i wonder if some dumbass acutally fell for that
