hi all,
was just thinking and seeing as ford have done it, would it be an easially possibility to get rid of the dodgee 4spd auto and have it replaced with a 6spd auto, what do you people think? do you think a 5L and 6spd would work well?
what else would need replacing? pro's and con's?
cheers all.
This is what I think you'd need (don't quote me on it). You'd have to change your computer to suit and you could probably get a auto from a ford and get it modded to suit. I don't know how well it would work but I would expect it would cost you a few dollars to do. Engine management compatability and physical compatibility would be the only issues I can see.
But why? why not a beefed up 4 speed manualised or something?
<davy> remember when braveheart came out and everyone said you can't have mel gibson playing a scottish guy cuz it wont be realistic?
<davy> well look at him now
<davy> an alcoholic racist
why not?, well honestly i didn't put any thought into it, it sorta just popped into my head after listening to my boss go on about it in his new VW R32 and i thought holden brought one out with the VE? anyway it would be cool to be the only person with a 5L 6spd auto calais.
at the same time i know sfa about trans what do you mean by a 4spd manualised? do you mean those ones that you move the stick to the left and it becomes manual mode?? anyway i hate these 4spd auto holden have, 1st is way to long and it takes forever for it to realise it needs to kickdown![]()
cheers all
Id rather convert it to manual. Much more fun.
Australia. Love it or leave it
you could go the new 5spd auto holden has.
