ive got a vx acclaim ecotec
was thinkin bout chargin, which would get bout 210kw's from a powerdyne centrif, price includes charger, cai and dyno.. from HDT
or i have been told that i could get it stroked( from 3.8 to 4.3, includes forged piston etc), and get a cam.... for roughly same price.. it will get me 250kw's apparently.. i was told that by apc(australian performance centre) which is a respected performance company in wa...
was told also for time being that i could get just the cam for 2500, that it would get me 225kw's...
dont know much about this side of things.. if someone could shed some light on this for me.. would be great
cheers

where to start....it seems some of these figures are either way off, or not in context. like the obvious one, the stroker - that 250kw is a figure you "might" be able to get at the flywheel, it is definately not rwkw and you would need to go all out to get that figure - not just a change in stroke with a cam to suit.
the cam giving you 225kw, i dont know who told you this but its an unrealistic figure for just a cam change. even with a cam change, heads ported and compression raised you wouldnt get that sort of figure.
the blower would probably be the way to go, but its all about what you want to achieve and what the cars purpose is, ie. for daily driving, or just weekend cruising,etc..
just make sure when your getting power figures from companies you establish whether they are flywheel figures or rear wheel figures, it makes a big difference.
if u wanna get power out of ya 6 go the blower ... y bother strokeing the six unless u had a ****load of money...
