    Default dyno results?

just wondering what sort of rwkw a stock ls1 puts out. i was a bit dissapointed with the 150rwkw the vt clubby 5l put out on the last strret commodores dvd. seeming my mates au xr8 220 pulled a 175rwkw standard and with catback exhaust and a capa flash tuner pulled 202rwkw.

Most stock LS1's put out around the 180-190 rwkw mark. Having said that, we did an LPG conversion on a completely stock WH statesman LS1 and it made 198rwkw on gas!

k cheers, for the feedback fellas. and no not all dyno runs were on the same dyno. but i suppose you would expect the dynos to be calibrated so the results are around the mark.

that power out of ls1's is not to bad, so a tune, exhaust and a decent intake setup could be around the 230 mark?

My VZ SSZ M6 ute made 195rwkw stock standard, then 220 rwkw with a full Sureflo 3.5" single system.

That is where you are so wrong. Different dynos can vary alot..... Don't get caught up in the hype of Dyno power figures......

yeah i know there are no real bragging rights being a dyno queen, i think i just like to to hear and see cars on the dyno. if we had an drag strip in adelaide we could see what out cars run. but AIR is ####ed.

You can outlaunch a WRX? Got to be kidding right?
My bet is most weren't even bothered to try.
I out run most cars using around 1/4 - 1/2 throttle. V8s I flick to high and use full throttle.
But managing a WRX, off the mark? I'm pushing 185RWKW, in a close ratio box, in a car 150-200KG lighter then a VT and I can't keep up with a WRX off the mark, and my car can manage flat 14 second 1/4s with a **** launch.
I seriously doubt you've had someone REALLY run you in a WRX.

7000RPM clutch dump is launching a WRX, not slipping the clutch with 2500RPM up it.

Seriously, drop the clutch, at redline, and watch the monkey go.

My mates GTR launches at 4000RPM and spins all 4s, and can only be kept up with by either other AWD, or those with semi slicks/full slicks.

A supercharged V6 with 2.8PSi will not out do something that comes from the factory running 13 second 1/4s with a proper driver.

A super charged stock v6 will never out launch a wrx who has a decent driver behind it, end of story.

WRX's in auto form certainly are not as quick as people seem to think. The one I learnt to drive in (04 model) would be slightly slower than a VN/VP offline..Not much but it would be slower.

Auto WRX are a ****load quicker then a VN/VP

Stall them up, they get going good to. Hit boost, and you're away.
Your VN/VP is still sitting there attempting to:
    A) Get off the mark,
    B) Stop wheel spinning

    Dyno figures mean jack squat.

The only way to get true figures are to take it to the track. I do not understand why people really care what their rwkw is. Sure its great to know, but i prefer to say around the 330 mark rather than 337.1453224.

I'd be amazed if the AU made 175 rwkw, but then again, they have almost no torque hence why the feel so gutless off the line.

The original shape WRX(pre bug-eye), although not as powerful, is usually a quicker car than newer WRX's, due to power/weight and all that. Auto WRX's are slower than manuals, but I don't care what you say I highly doubt a vn/vp would take one off the line, even though they don't boost up till around half way up the tacho, just the fact they are lighter and have a very responsive feel to them they should have no problem at all destroying one.
