i see all these ppl selling custom number plates, do they have to buy them off the RTA / pay the yearly fee while they are in storage? or do they just spend $30 and another $30 a year in storage and hope to sell them for some stupid amount?

You have to pay the RTA to get them made. Then you have to pay the storage fee which is the yearly fee. So depending on which plate design you have created, it can cost anywhere from $90 up to $470 to store them until you sell them.

i think its bull****, all these tossers buy number plates you may want, and just keep them in storage. if a few ppl want one plate and its not already taken maybe the RTA should "auction" them off.
