What are they and what do they do?
I need to get the ones on the sway bar? replaced do they cost much?

I think you mean bushes and there are two types on a sway bar....the d bushes that go around the bar and insulate it between the bracket and chassis rail and the more common ones that go are the link bushes that go from the end of the bar and connect it to the strut.They screw around with the strut when you turn the wheel and in time thay deterorate.You can get the two different types of swaybar bushes in polyurethane or rubber (original)
The d bushes are ok poly but the link bushes should probably stay rubber as they give a bit when they are twisted when you turn the steering wheel instead of bending or making the steering heavier that the poly link bushes do
.In poly the d bushes are around 30 and the link bushes can be bought with the connecting rod for about 50 the pair.
