Congratulations to the moron who had my VH before me....the wheel nuts were on that tight i needed a broom stick handle lenght lever to get them off. Though the back right was the worst, the wheel was on that tight it needed levering off the rotor with a screwdriver. Also wise guy you are supposed to check/maintain/machine your discs, as yes they too wear along with the brake pads.
These basic tasks help keep to keep your car in a reasonable condition, and NOT PISS OFF any future buyers. after they pull it apart to have a look.
if you cant tell im a bit angry, but thats off my chest now, thanks!![]()
yeah i forgot to mention that, my coolant is that lovely brown colour, dont you think if your selling a car you woudl want it looking the goods....but then again i bought it on ebay so i suppose i didnt really see it before i bought it. even when ive sold my previous cars, i ALWAYS changed the oil, plugs, and filters before anyone collected it, its courtesy if anything, but it also shows you take car and look after your ride.
haha,
sounds like the only moron here is the buyer, most people check this stuff before they buy a vehicle.

<davy> an alcoholic racist
no for the price i got what i paid for but it just ****s me in general.....
as explained ppl, most thigns bought of ebay you are taking a risk, i took it, but wouldnt you thing most holdne lovers would look after thier cars? apart from that im happy with my purchase
its always the way with buying old cars when my mum bought my vh i spent an hour and a half looking it over for rust and leaks and what not found a few little easy to fix things ended up halving the price cause i made it sound worse then it was morel of the story dont buy site unseen always take the time to look it over make sure it is worth the money your about to dish out
^^ Rattle gun heroes??? Hope it didn't damage your rims as well. From what I've experienced most tyre places are a bit like this.
lol im a holden lover but if i had a cheap runabout car that i had flogged around then sold off i wouldnt bother giveing it a service or spending any more money on it... id sell it how it is if people dont like it they dont have to buy it![]()
doesnt make me a moron lol just gives me money for my other flashy cars lol
wrecking VL COMMODORE 5 speed
FOR SALE : supra 5 speed box suite holden v8 $800
yeah knew the rotors needed replacing, back ones just need machining, am goign to put slotted on the front, keep the back standard. i suppose the whole point is you have a unique car.... a VH with an Ecotech in, one would think that the effort put into the conversion, one would look after his vehicle, am i right or wrong? maybe if it was a ****ty old vh with a smokey 202 in it one would think they wouldnt really care. anyway......im getttin bagged so ill just shuddup and enjoy my restoration of my VH!
ps can anyone recommend any good sydney commodore clubs that go on cruises regualry?
used to have the same problem with our XC-update Fairmont...it comes from places using big rattle guns to do up your wheel nuts...once we literally couldn't undo the nuts to change a flat with a slow leak...we took it to a nearby Bob Jane where we usually did business for many years (not the same place that had done up the nuts, that was a Bridgestone outlet where we got the tyres on an unbelievable special) and they had to use huge breaker bars to get the nuts undone, and broke off two studs. They did the rest of the wheels and broke off two more studs, which they generously replaced for only the labour cost of replacing them. this was a bargain, as the studs were very expensive and not easy to get hold of...the labour was the smallest part of the job.
The told us to ask anyone who is doing wheel work to only use a wheel spanner, and not to ever use a rattle gun on our car. ever since, we have asked that spanners be used, and this Bob Jane at least doesn't use rattle guns anymore, or at least if they do, they are the normal small ones, not the truck-type thing we had seen the other outlet using! However, all you have to do is ask and they are quite happy to use a wheel spanner. They have told us they usually only use the rattle gun to either remove super-tight nuts or use it on large four wheel drive and light truck wheels.
i got the same problem but worse my whole car's wiring is all completely f****ed thers wires hanging everywere and some arent even connected to anything so now i wud hav to get the wireing done again from scratch.
hahah, yeah my old ford EA went in to have the brakes done, a week later I had a flat, luckily I was at my bosses house when it went down.
Lucky that us because despite either of our efforts we couldnt do it, not with the rattle gun, not with a 6 foot pipe on the end of the tire lever.
In the end we got it off, i used the four way wheel nut undoing thingo looks like a big + witha different sized thingo on each end.
anyway, we had a pipe each, and from each end, undid every nut on that wheel, then took the car to a mechanic and had them do the other wheels
you mean a tyre iron?![]()

* Sureflo 3.5 inch medium-loud cat back exhaust
The tyre shop I goto uses the rattle gun to get them on then finishes tightning them with a torque wrench afterwards (the proper way).
yeh i had a RATTLE GUN cowboy go nuts with mine az well, burred the crome on tha nuts GRRRR
also RE:minux's buyer fault post id agree to a degree but there is only so much you can check, with my vr i checked the brakes, tranny, engine 4 leaks and condition interior/body 4 rust (boot foot wellz etc) and a few other things, BUT i found a week ago when the gbox died that the wiring had been tampered with (sucks doesnt it DIJM8) wilst installing a security system and had blown the ECU and damaged a few other things (including the gbox), the engine dashboard light and a few other globes had been removed! and the wiring wasnt visible that was "Murdered". There was no way to know this before buying it. But it all comes down to an old legal term no longer in use "Buyer Beware" (Forgotten the latin for it)
and Secki, there are a lot of idiots out there who stuff round wit a car and have absolutely NO IDEA what they are doing![]()
Wheel brace, it was on the tip of my tounge, I hate that.
Anyway i'm not a complete f'wit is all I wanted to point out happens to some of us simple folk.
