Dude 1 thread is plenty, not 3 the exact same which I have seen so far.

You're looking at $200 for front, $200 for rear, $150 a sideskirt. Thats cheap prices I would think. So you wont get it professionally painted for under $700, $850ish if theres a spoiler also.

Tip: The exact paint code (if original colour) is under the front of the bonnet (first compliance plate)

    :my: 1200 bux??
Considering 4 litres of mixed paint is about 165 bux, and you would only need around a litre to paint a body kit, that is expensive. for 1200 bux you could buy the equipment and materials to do it, plus have the equipment for ever.

Ill say that prep work alone on fibreglass bodykits is an absolute headache then trying to make them fit to perfection is even harder save yourself the headache I have fitted and painted a few and never want to do it again they very rarely fit properly and don't expect perfection unless you pay someone who is a professional anyone who realises the work involved in fitting and painting a kit knows its not just a matter of blowing a coat of paint over it and would rather not do it hence the $1200 figure they really would make more money on other jobs taking less time

You would be pushing it on only using a lt on a bodykit. Being a dark blue personally i'd say about 1-1.5lts of basecoat, then about 2 lts of clear.

If i was to paint it the cost of the paint would be about $490 + around another $100 for consumables but the paint i use it 100 times better then any car paint.

    Is that $1200 inc fitting?

Must be, $1200 sounds reasonable to me. Mainly because fiberglass is so damn hard to fit. And it is really time consuming just rubbing it down to stick the paint on [although you would just use 222S before you start spraying lol ] Usually, at work we'd probably use 2ltrs to paint a full kit plus clear. but the results are amazing. To bad we use debeer paint at work . I like ppg/dupont better. What paint you use banks? and you never got back to me about the iwata w400 wb gun! lol

Yeah i've heard of quotes of around the $1100 mark b4 inc fitting so its pretty close.

On the big girls I use PPG/Akzo Nobel/ANAC. But for the smaller stuff I use sikkens, us paints, alexseal, and occasionally protec and Dupont, jetglo some other ones as well that we are trailing atm.

Yeah I did! lol I said it was a good gun, I asked our paint rep about it and he said for the money there a good buy. What do you do btw?

STARS!! Oh god lol do yourself a favour and get a good gun, stars are ****. I have a stars 2mm 1lt gravity that I use for high building (sanding primer) and that’s all it gets used for. It will never see topcoat lol only reason I got that is because it was like $15, hoses on the primer, 2mm + gravity, also it holds a litre where as most gravities only hold half a litre.

Some people say that it doesn’t matter what gun you have the finish should be the same, bull****. Yes it comes down to the person but the better the gun, the easier and smoother it is for the painter, and the better finish he/she gets.

I've seen some guns that should feature on pimp my ride! freakin digital flow readouts and fancy anodising. Pfft neither helps with the actual painting process. You shouldn’t really have to touch the air pressure and fluid regulator at all, no matter what paint your using…

    What year you in?

Banks: 1st year , but been spraying for a while now [2-3 years still an amateur tho , painted backyarders mainly etc]. I LOOVE my job tho lol, wouldn't do anything else. We do trucks, cars and vans, but the stars give me the ****s, cains your hands after 10 mins of spraying.

vrsialac: like a sata jet 90 or something?

ROd: How does the digital readout go when you wash it in the gunwash machine with gp thinners lol

why do you need a digital readout? whats wrong with a normal regulator lol

You can change tip sizes in most guns. (well known ones anyway) I can run upto 2mm on my devilbiss.
