HELP! Removing VR exterior trim

hey guys i recently removed the exterior trim on my VR, but now im left with the glue on the doors n the silicon on the bumpers, the silicon came off easily on the front one but the rear one im having trouble with, and on the doors the dried glue isnt coming off with scrubbing, or a steam cleaner, someone told me to use a hot air gun but i checked it out at bunnings n the dude told me not to use it coz it will take the paint off n the packaging says this also, so does anyone know how i can get it all off? im new to this whole DIY car thing as you can probably tell :P

i just did this on sunday i used some polish and a soft sponge to realy work in the glue then i used another clean rag to wipe of the aftermath
