Question about my trip computer

my fuel consumption read out on my trip computer has gone haywire and i wonder if anyone could help me, when my car is idling the computer is saying i am getting 90 litres per 100ks, but when i am driving it goes back to 8 or 9 litres per 100ks has anyone else had this problem and if so could you please reply thanks

Sounds like your car has a drinking problem. Try resetting the ECU by taking the engine fuse out for 30 seconds.

When I am going slow (no accel) it sits on 90-99L/100. Just saying that if you were going that slow and go all 100km, you would use roughly 90L in the process.

Speed up and it drops - say you are going 100 - you are going ~20 times faster than before, but you will be using only 5 times the fuel. That's what makes the fuel average fluctuate like that.

Ofcourse you are going to use ****loads of fuel to travel a 100 k's if your not moving

it perfectly fine, it just cant calculate a l/100k value when your not travelling thats why it goes up to a maximum value, in the new commos like the vz and ve when you've stopped traveling it will change from l/100km to l/per minute to give you a read out
