I did a search and found an old thread... Didn't really have much info, plus it was a couple years old, so now they might have new things that can help
I was just wondering, does anyone know how to remove dents, such as those left by people opening their car doors onto yours.
I've noticed a few here and there on my car, and I really don't like them... They bug the hell out of me.
Does anyone know if theres anything I can do to get them out?
Or
Does anyone know anywhere that I can bring my car to let the pros get them out?
Also a rough cost... I have One dent in my pasanger read door, two dents in my passanger rear gaurd, one in my drivers front guard, two just near the back windscreen (not caused by doors obviously).
I'd really like to get them fixed
But wait... There's more!!
But that's not all!!!

I don't really thing it's a DIY job and although I don't have too much info or knowledge I know there is a process called paintless dent removal. Something to do with sucking the dent out and not having to repaint. Do a google search and you find places around australia and even mobile repairers.
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!
Don't be stupid. Power isn't measured by the size of your tacho
i fixed mine at dr dent.dont know if hes near u tho.sucks having these niggly things all over the car ay! unfortuneatly my dents had to be resprayd so urs cant be that bad?
Suction will not get the little dents out. We had a work car where I used to work and it had a dent in the tailgate. The panel beater tried to get it out with the suction cup thing and it just pulled the suction cup off the car. Unless there is a new machine that has incredible vacuum, I doubt it would be successful.
heat up round the dent on the inside of the panel and hay presto.
bastard sean
Try this from Youtube: heat the dent with a hairdryer, then rub dry ice on it. The expanding and contracting pulls the dent out! Small and large. Small ones need more work.
geoff at de-dent paintless dent repair did it for me he came out over the weekend and pushed out a few door dings witch had been getting on my nerves for a very long time he charges between $75 / $150 per dent witch i thought was realy good considering the price panel shops charge any way his number is 0431555123 give him a call if ya need some dents removed he did a top job for me and a nice bloke to
in my experience - do NOT try doing it yourself unless you are a professional. parking dings are best removed by paintless dent repair. these folks use specialised tools to knead it from behind, or to pull it out using glue and a screw/clamp setup. I took the VB to get dings taken out; as it turns out only half were removed for the others were inaccessible, had poor paint on the surface (so could not pull out from front) or the metal was too thick.
Also anything other then factory paint cannot be glue pulled. Resprays are a big no-no for glue pulling, the paint will give before the dent does. Also if the paint is broken paintless dent removal can't be done as the risk of the paint lifting is too high.
I got 14 dents (hail damage) done for $450 by Mr Bingle. I removed all the trim myself to get the guy access to the panels, quote was $760 otherwise.
Doesn't usually work on smaller dents. Also you risk making the paint fail because metal expands and contracts at a different rate then paint. It's the same heat cycling effect (being in the sun, then cooling down) that makes all the satin chrome parts bubble on commodores.

Most PDR guys should let you know if there is a risk of damaging the paint (either from it being cracked, or a dodgy repair), and leave it up to you to decide whether he gives it a go or not.
I've glue-pulled dents on some fairly shit paint before and only once pulled some clear off. Cracked paint is a different story. That will lift with the glue puller more times than not in my experience.
BUT, if you are taking it to a pro (whoever this is directed to) they will only use glue on the dents that can't be reached from behind (very few)
