Gday i recently bought a VH commodore (my first car) and it came with a horrible tint job across the rear window, it was all bubbled and ya can see the glue, and it made seeing out of the rear window next to impossible so today i set about removing it, i tryed metho and a scraper, i got the blue tint off however the glue is still there, does anyone have any advice?

Go to a professional place like tintprofessor or tintacar and have them remove and re-tint it, the extra $$$ is well worth the lack of frustration and time it'll cost you.

or if u can get ur hands on a heat gun itd do the job!then again nothing like a pro finish.ur commy deserves nothing less![]()
I had to take my old tint off ages ago cause it was rippled and bubbling n stuff, i just peeled the tint sheet off, but then there was a layer of the glue still on window, i used thinners at first with a rag, it worked for most of it, but it was still a bit sticky afterwards, so i used metho or somthin and it worked fine, then i got my car re tinted, looks so much better, but if ur plannin on gettin it re tinted then ring up and ask how much extra it would be for them to remove tint
thanks for the tips. yeah those demisters can be a pain to get around

I think they steam the rear window for an hour or so professionally so as not to take the demisters off at the same time as the tint.
I thought demister is built inside the glass??
Nah she is just a conductive layer on the inside of glass.
Run ur nail across it, u can feel the lines
my thoughts exactlywe had a large hail storm here a year ago and it smashed in the back window of my vl and lucky for me it didnt do to much damage to the rest of the car and i had a vk shell with rear window round the back of the house newayz swapped out the window but in the process of cleaning the tar off the back window i rubbed out a few of the demister lines
but you can fix them you have to buy a special fixing kit for it but my advice man is to save your time and effort and let the pros do the job right the first time round!

pros will have to wait, I bought my VH for $1500 the previous owner ripped her self off, i bought it two weeks ago and ive already had to spend $1200+ on little but expensive problems
