My mate wants to stick interceptor rims on his VN. What would be the widest he could go tyre wise ? 225's ? (apologies if this has been done ....)
Stocko they come with 205s, my guess is thats the widest you can go because there is no more wheel rim on the inside to put a tyre on.

Genuine interceptors are 7" wide and can take a 225 nicely.
If they are only 6" wide stick with a 205/65 or at absolute maximum a 215/60.
Look for the stamping on the rim to see what width it is.
I got genuine interceptors, 15"x7"....I got them off a stock VY SII ute for $400 (with the caps and bolts) with tyres which had only done 500km... Genuine always look better![]()
Are the black ones and the silver pursuit rims different sizes?

Silver "pursuit" wheels are not only spot welded on the tabs like regular black steel rims, but are MIG welded around the join between the centre & the rim if they are genuine police-spec 15 x 7s.
Here are mine:

Notice there's no bead of MIG between the centre & the rim? That's how you tell when a 7" rim is a ute rim & not a "pursuit" wheel.
Earlier ute wheels had "UTE" stamped on them between the wheel nut holes, dunno if the later ones still do.
Ive compared my 15x7's to my stock 15x6's and found the 15x6's are only spot welded. On the 15x7's I can see the MIG weld on the inner side of the rim where the join is.....
And the wheels are only stamped with GM.....
When get chance ill take off the rim and take a pic....
Cheers for the response guysAnd I thought interceptors were interceptors...
You also have to take into account that if it's like any other VN you need some pretty hard suspesion to go wider than 205 on the rear otherwise, no load in the back or your tyres'll grind on the side of the wheel arch.
I'm currently fitting FE2 springs to counter this problem for my 215's
