    Unhappy Death of a Beauty

I don't really wanan write much as I am still upset, short story is, I got road raged, followed the guy to get his number plate, he either slowed down, pulled up the handbrake and I went up his ass, lost control and hit a pole, then he took off the f**K! so if you see a white camery station wagon with a commy inprint in its ass end in the bankstown area NSW get the plate number for me, here are the pics, I have already pulled the headlights, blinkers, frontbar and the bumper bar off.

I hopefully can get its fixed, I only have 3rd party, and have just started a new job, so yeah, it sucks bad, I loved the car and now I can't bring myself to look at it cause its stuffed

Yeah had that happen to me about 8 years ago. Some **** was doing 80 in a 100 zone in the right hand lane. There was a scooter pidling along in the left lane so I pulled up close behind ready to overtake. Just as I turned to check I had passed the bike he deliberatly put his brakes on. The first hit was only a little tap but he must have gone wtf he hit me and slammed them on hard. Thats when I clobbered him good. Ofcourse then he stops in the middle of the road causing the guy behind me to swerve into the median strip. The dude said to me later that he'd vouch that the guy deliberatly tried to cause an accident. His $10 valiant didn't have a scratch (towbar) but I lost the whole front of my car.

sorry to say it's your own fault, shouldnt have followed so closley, regardless of road rage, just think, if you would have let it slide and not worried about it, you wouldnt have had any dammage done to the car

    cheers

The front looks like a pretty light hit, I doubt the radiator support panel will even have to be replaced, just persueded So you got off quite lightly there.

As for the rear 1/4, it'll starighten but will have to be removed to straighten that inner door jam. Being a VS Calais and no insurance........it'd be worth fixing it, just do everything other than the actual Panel Beating yourself.

I had a VL Turbo that looked written off, we took a radiator support from another VL which cost $0, paid $200 to have it welded in. Fitted secondhand parts and for less than $1000 it was revived. But sold to someone else

Yeah I am with Garth on this one sadly, I have had people do this to me in a fit of road rage, pull in front of me and slam the brakes on. Luckily I have never hit anyone, as I have always anticipated or expected this move. Still it does suck and I feel for soulyouth. Main thing is your not hurt.

Although I do feel for you, I am also in agreement with Garth. Maybe the fact that he took off is a blessing for you seeing as u were the one who run up his rear u'd probably be liable to pay for his damage too. The 3 second rule applies all the time incuding when chasing cars for plates after road rage. But glad u aren't hurt and hope you track this idiot down somehow.

Theres always a would or could have, I'm sure the bloke has his own regrets, and a VS that came close to being a economical write off.

Lesson learnt without people stating the obvious, I'd have this thread taken down though for reasons I'll PM you about.

G'luck with getting it back on the road

    ####, sorry to hear mate.
I had this nerely done to my car a few months ago. A guy in an old subaru wagon tried to over take me on my left hand side on the dirt/gravel on the side of the road (speed limit was 90, l was doing 90) and the ######## must have forgot that theres poles on the gravel to stop people from doing this, so when he came close to one of these he swerved back towards me pushing me on to the oppisite side of the road making me spin out of control and stall the auto, the #### just drove off, thankfully no damage was done.

Good to hear your ok, hope to see the silver bullet back on the road!!

Mate, never fear! That is very minor shell damage and it can easily be fixed.
