MOD: 1.95:1 Ratio Roller Rockers (YT) $600

    -----on----

    CAR: 2002 VX S-Pack
    ENGINE: V6 L36 Ecotec
    TRANSMISSION: 5 SPD Manual
OTHER MODS: CAI, Headers, Exhaust, MAF Modification

    REVIEW:
I put some rockers i picked up this morning into my car. Took about an hour or so from start to finish and its a pretty easy job.
The only tools i didn't have lying around were a torque wrench and a 6mm allan key socket bit.
After gettin those it was easy...
Overall im not as impressed as i thought i would be with the gains from this mod. Yeah it pulls abit harder 3000rpm onwards but its not exactly pinning me to my seat.
I dunno if this is because the computer hasn't had enough time to adjust to the rockers (only being driving with them for an hour after reseting the ECU).

PRE MOD KW: approx. 160kw @ the fly
POST MOD KW: approx. 170 @ the fly

MOD DIFFICULTY: 1 out of 5
GRIN FACTOR: 3 out of 5 originally, now 4 outta 5... Seems to be gettin better with time as the computer adjusts further.

    ---MODS---

Twin 2.5in, twin cats, twin mufflers, twin tips , pacemaker headers - cost $1500

    K&N Panel filter - cost $110

SS inductions CAI - cost $450

    ------------Vehical-----------

    98 VT (S1) Calais 5.0L

    ------------Report------------

Didn't get really get any improvement from these mods yet, more so getting it ready to charge or stroke, but the exhaust does give a beautiful crisp sound, didn't get anything what so ever from the K&N, the lp of the snorkel was done as a cheap and nasty way to get a littl more air going in without being restricted once again no gain what so ever.

    **UPDATE** SS Inductions CAI

Picked it up thursday night after work from autobarn, took me roughly an hour to put it all on and get ready, after a few 100km of driving over the weekend i have noticed driving to work this morning the car is more responsive, don't need to push on the accelerator as much and at WOT it's pulling harder and climbs the speed range alot better. all round she's driving alot better with alot less effort, very impressed with this mod.

I think this thread could be stickied. However, if you wish to make comments about peoples mods, PM them, anything that isnt in the layout as put by Jesterarts will be removed. this could be a very good resource for people looking to do mods.

Ultra Low Suspension (Ultra Low Springs, Struts, Dampers, Mount Bearing, Panhard Rod, Whiteline Strut Bar, Sway bar link bushes) $1200 + 18" VY SS Rims/Tires $800

    --On--

    1993 VR V6 Commodore Wagon
    3.8L Buick 5spd Manual

    Review
Expensive but amazing. The car is sitting very low and the handling is amazing. Ive driven cars which are lowered (either chopped/clamped or just lowered springs) which are a pain in the arse. If you lower the springs by themselves there is not enough travel in the strut so the springs become useless on bumps etc.
By spending the money and replacing all the suspension parts the drive now is amazing, the car is so stable in the corners and smooth on the main road. Ive driven a stock VT SS which doesnt even come close in terms of handling or corner speed (and thats compared to a Vr Wagon :P).

However i highly recommend upgrading your rotors, as the car can handle higher speed and better braking the current rotors get waaaay to hot, and kill the pads. If your going to upgrade the suspension and drive it hard (eg 4 hours non-stop through mountains) id recommend upgrading the brakes.

    Power = N/A
Mod Difficulty 4.5 out of 5, (3 if you have a hoist).
Grin Factor 5 out of 5, Best money i ever spent.

    MODS

    Pacemaker Extractors, custom exhaust. $1050

    Review
Upgraded to pacemaker extractors and custom exhaust system. The sound is amazing, but the extractors are rattling against the steering rack, cross member and body, its driving me nuts. Apparently its a bit of a problem with teh VR/VS cars, especially as its manual.

    Power
    Prior - 140kw?
After - 145kw... Although it does rev a lot better at higher RPM.

Mod Difficulty 2-3 out of 5
Grin Factor -8 out of 5. Honestly disappointed with the rattle, the sound is amazing but that rattling noise is seriously bad. Until i can get that fixed, im very very disappointed.

MOD: RDA Slotted rotors and QFM performance pads

    CAR: e30 318i BMW
    ENGINE: M40 1.8l SOHC
    TRANSMISSION: Getrag 5 speed
OTHER EXISTING MODS: Random non performance stuff

    REVIEW:
Got some new rotors and pads to replace the stock ones.
Very happy... under light braking there is no real difference but when i need to pull up quick they develop some teeth!

Occasionally squeak but not enough to bother me and brake dust is basically not noticeable.

Definitely worth upgrading the brakes on any car

    PRE MOD KW: 0rwkw
    POST MOD KW: -2rwkw

MOD DIFFICULTY: 2, basically 8 bolts and your done
GRIN FACTOR: 2, nothing to get excited about until you need to pull up in a hurry.

*I am aware its not a commodore... but a brake upgrade is something that would yield similar results and performance across all makes and models I think.
