    Default Bonnet protector

I am thinking of getting one of those plastic bonnet protectors for my car.Do they really protect your bonnet from stone chips or are they a waste of money. Are they easy to fit.
    Cheers.

Are you talking about those ugly black things you put at the front bar? they are so ugly and ruin any car.

But they do protect from stone chips and stuff. If thats what your talking about

They protect the front from chips yes but where they mount tends to wear the paint away.

Yes, the acrylic plastic bonnet protectors are fine, headlight and front fog covers too.

In your question the protector eliminates paint damage caused by small debris that would otherwise leave craters. Typically with speed up and over the car.

The products DO NOT add to a higher resale value if fitted at trade in or up time, but does mean your cars value will be better owing less damage, if you follow.

    Cheap insurance.
Purchase a hazard-warning triangle for your car to improve the warning given to approaching traffic at both crash scenes and vehicle breakdowns. Keep it in the boot. I suggest Hella Part Number 2901 - $70, OR http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/onl...215554#details. Accepted under AS3790. http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/media...eSafePart4.pdf

Downside: If you park in an area with trees that drop alot of leaves, they get trapped behind the protector.

I had one, took it off as soon as I got the car, but put it back on for long trips.

I have one that clips on to the front of the bonnet, i asume thats what is being talked about here, and drive about 30Km down the highway every day to work. Have found that it only seems to protect a very small amout of paint at the front of the bonnet, Seen from the growing number of chips appearing it doesn't do much.
