    Default v8 exhaust question

    good afternoon

i have a vs 5L calais with, from what i can see, has a redback catback system, with 2 mufflers. if i were to get rid of the rear one, would it sound good or shyte? and anybody know how much this would cost to get done?

what i'd really like is one of those electric exhaust cut offs before the rear muffler, and have a pipe going all thw way to the back so i sort of have a dual exhaust, and i can swap between the 2. do these even exist anywhere in australia?

    cheers

ok dude you have the 2 mufflers for a reason one is a undercar muffler.

This muffler can features a straight Available in round and oval configurations.-through design for ultimate flow, power and performance. Its designed to give back pressure, and gives you the sound from the engine.

The 2nd Muffler is what is called a Hot Dog its purpose is to Moderate sound control with a Straight through design for maximum flow using a material called Fibreglass packed inside for noise suppression.
    Cheers.

My ressie costed $45 to get cut off and replaced with straight pipe. Best cheapest mod ive done to my car. Made it sound heaps better.

OK depends on if its single, or twin zorst, mine is single with rear res removed and xtractors, sounds good, i want a deeper note so im goin for a twin with erssies on, as when i was werkin at a zorst shop a p plater cam in in a vt 5.0L with twins and wanted the ressie out and just pipes in, boss told him it would sound crap, but we done it anyway, and it sounded good at idle, and upto about 2500 - 3000 revs, after that it was crackly/barky woteva you call it, and we could hear him when he legt for about 3 kays i recon, funny thing is, 3 hrs later he came back, and asked for the ressie back on, and he had a big yellow sticker in the centre of the windscreen
