The end of your ignition barrel has broken off where it goes into the switch. To get yourself home take the steering column cover off and remove the two small flat head screws near the black plastic switch on the lhs of the ignition switch barrel.
Lock and then unlock the car using the button (disables the imobiliser) and then put your key into the ignition keyhole and turn it until the contacts touch the metal piece on the key. Once this is done the steering lock is disabled and the final piece of the imobiliser sorted. Then turn the plastic switch centre until the dash lights are on. Then turn further to start car, this is quite hard due to the spring return on the start circuit.
Don't take the key out of the keylock whilst driving or the steering lock will come on whilst the car is moving.
I'm just replacing my ignition barrel at the moment ($70 from Rebel Spares) for exactly this.

If the ignition lights are already on, you can pull the starter relay and bridge the pins to start the car. Otherwise you need to do what is said above.
