Have it steam cleaned by professionals.

If it is in the upholstrey, there is only one real solution, go to a detailers and get them to remove it. Spew is a funny substance, mainly because it's a nasty mi of mucus and various acid's (salivery, stomach, food's etc), and as such, it tends to eat into carpet's and underlays.
If your mate cant afford to foot the bill just yet, next best thing would be to start off with glen20 to remove the air odour, plenty of air-ration (park it in a garage with a fan on and all the doors & windows open). You can use talc powder (really cake it on) to pull moisture out of the area, then follow this up with some carpet cleaning products after removing the talc. Leave the powder on for as long as possible (around 2-3hours should do). Test the carpet cleaning solution on an inconspicious area first (boot liner is a good starting place) to check for colour warping and fading first.

    Hope this helps.

I shouldn't have opened this thread whilst eating lunch....But, I agree. The only way you'll really get rid of it, is to take it to the professionals.

Go to Autopro and get a bottle of Meguiars odour remover.

There's a product called No Odour you can buy from places like Woolies, comes in small bottles, a few drops here and there does wonders.. I went on holidays and left a half empty bottle of Move under the front seat.. the bottle expended in the heat and leaked milk everywhere.. when I came back the inside was practically toxic, but the No Odour really worked a treat, and is cheaper then a professional clean.

    rub his nose in it.

but seriosuly, the most effective thing i've found is to get your mate to buy you new seats. i heard that cleans the smell right out

Ewwww, I've had this happen before. Back in my clubbing days.

I had a lovely cheeseburger/cheap champagne mix deposted in the back seat (bloody young chicks). A brand new Suzuki Swift too.

I first leant the hard way. Stopped by (after off loading the drunken passengers) at the local car wash and sprayed it with that deodoriser like crazy. Bad idea.

This was when I was living in QLD and was in the warmer months. You could only imagine after opening up the car after it sitting out in the sun half the day and the smell of it all hitting you in the face with hot air pushing behind it.

I threw in about a whole can of Glen 20 and it worked wonderfully. The next time I had a similar incident, in the same car, I did the same and again worked perfectly.
